1. Dalhousie University Scholarships

Applications for this scholarship programme are done through the Harmonized Scholarship Process, which allows current/prospective master’s and PhD students to be considered for several FGS-managed scholarships using a single application. All required application material for these scholarships must be submitted via the online scholarship platform.

1. Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship :
   • The Master’s level award is valued at $10,000/year for 2 years (subject to annual renewal)
   • Doctoral level awards are valued at $15,000/year for 4 years (subject to annual renewal).
2. Killam Predoctoral Scholarships
   • Master’s (Level 1): $6666.66 per term + ITF (international students) + relocation allowance (if applicable)
   • Doctoral (Level 2): $10000 per term + relocation allowance (if applicable) + President’s Award for two years. Note that Dalhousie PhD programs no longer have International Tuition Fees applied.
3. Eliza Ritchie Doctoral Entrance Scholarship for Women
   • The Award is valued at $30,000 for a twelve-month academic year.
   • Candidates who hold other scholarships of any kind, including scholarships internal and external to Dalhousie University, will receive the Eliza Ritchie Doctoral Entrance Scholarship for Women as a “top-up award” to their other scholarship, the total not exceeding $30,000 per academic year or $10,000 per term.
4. James Robinson Johnston Graduate Entrance Scholarship for African Canadians
   • The Master’s scholarship is valued at $15,000 for one twelve-month academic year of full-time study. The Award is renewable, subject to an annual progress review (scholarship-class standing required). The Award can be held for a maximum of 24 months of full-time study.
   • The Doctoral scholarship is valued at $19,000 for a twelve-month academic year. The Award is renewable, subject to an annual progress review (scholarship-class standing required). An Award can be held for a maximum of 36 months of full-time study.
5. African Nova Scotian Graduate Scholarship: valued at $15,000/year, awarded annually to an African Nova Scotian who has either recently started or is planning to pursue graduate studies at Dalhousie.
6. Indigenous Graduate Scholarship: valued at $15,000/year, awarded annually to an Indigenous/Aboriginal student who has either recently started or is planning to pursue graduate studies at Dalhousie.
7. Vitamin Scholarship
   • The Award must be taken up upon commencing the first year of the degree program. The Award is valued at $19,000 (Masters) and.

3. Laurentian University Scholarships for International Students

These university scholarships for International Students aims to attract and support brightest minds from around the world to study in an undergraduate, master or PhD degree programs at the university. Students may receive different awards that maybe sufficient to all expenses. At undergraduate level, Scholarships are limited to students studying in open-enrolment programs. 1. 90% to 100% average undergraduate students will be receiving up to $60,000 in scholarship awards ($15,000 in first year, renewable in subsequent years provided average is maintained)
2. 80% to 89.9% average undergraduate students will be receiving up to $40,000 in scholarship awards ($10,000 in first year, renewable in subsequent years provided average is maintained)
3. Masters students are eligible for $600 and Ph.D. students, $1,200. Travel funds are for the duration of the student’s program and do not renew annually.
4. Dean’s Entrance Scholarship: A one-time, non-renewable award of $1,500 is available to Master’s students entering their first year of study. Students with an average of over 90% will receive $3,000 (Not available to MBA students)
5. OGS: Applications must be completed one year in advance to their intended study start date. (e.g. If a student plans to start in September 2020, they MUST complete an application in 2019.) Applications can be submitted even if the applicant has not yet applied or has officially accepted entrance into a program at LU
6. Graduate Teaching Assistantship/Fellowship (GTA)
   • The 2021-2022 value of the GTA is $9,180 for M.Sc. students ($4,484 is the salary portion paid on a bi-weekly basis and the graduate fellowship is payable in one installment of $4,696 into the students Laurentian University account), and
   • $13,307 for Ph.D. students ($6,651 in the salary portion paid on a bi-weekly basis and the graduate fellowship is payable in one installment of $6,656 into the students Laurentian University account).

4. University of Toronto Admission Scholarships for International Students

The University of Toronto offers a variety of admission awards to it international students when they apply to their respective programs. Some University of Toronto Admission Scholarships for International Students are automatically granted to newly admitted foreign students, while others might require them to complete a separate application or an awards profile. The university has three main admission scholarships namely: the University of Toronto International Scholar Award, the International Merit Admission Award and the International Student Admission Bursary.

7. University of Windsor Entrance Scholarships

At the time of admission both Canadian and International full-time applicants to research-based programs with an admission average of at least 80% (or equivalent) will be considered for the University of Windsor Entrance Scholarships upon the recommendation of their program. The program will provide up to $7,500 per year to selected candidates. The university offers various programs from humanities to engineering at the graduate degree level.

13. Université de Montréal International Student Scholarship

The Scholarship has been created by the university to help international students cover additional tuition fees. The scholarship is available for foreign students willing to undertake undergraduate Master’s and PhD degree studies at the University of Montreal, Canada. Selected candidates could benefit from an exemption from the tuition fees normally charged to international students, starting in the next semester.

Undergraduate programs

• Level A: $12,465.60 per year (2 sessions, equivalent to 30 credits) or $6,232.80 per session (15 credits) or $415.52 per credit
• Level B: $5,940.90 per year (2 sessions, equivalent to 30 credits) or $2,970.45 per session (15 credits) or $198.03 per credit
• Level C: $2,078.10 per year (2 sessions, equivalent to 30 credits) or $1,039.05 per session (15 credits) or $69.27 per credit.

Students enrolled in a certificate, major, minor and preparatory year program for university studies automatically obtain the level C award. These amounts are applied to tuition fees of $24,607.80 per year (30 credits).

Master’s degree programs

$9 787,95 per year (3 sessions, equivalent to 45 credits) or $3 262,65 per session (equivalent to 15 credits). This amount is applied to tuition fees of $27,992.70 per year (45 credits).

PhD degree programs

This exemption bursary allows you to benefit from the same tuition fees as Québec graduate studies students. $21,038.13 per year (3 sessions, equivalent to 45 credits) or $7,012.71 per session (equivalent to 15 credits) for the entire duration of your studies. 14. Concordia University of Edmonton Entrance Scholarship

Admitted international students are offered the Concordia University of Edmonton Entrance Scholarship, depending on their academic achievements. The main selection criterion is the academic performance. Scholarships are available for international students admitted to an Undergraduate degree program.
