Applications are open for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Scholarship in Flood Risk Management. This is a competitive scholarship program running from 2024 to 2027, with about 70 scholarships available across four intakes. The scholarships are for both partner countries and program countries. There are also additional scholarships for students from targeted regions of the world, responding to the external policy priorities of the EU with regard to higher education.

Selection Procedure
The Joint Scholarship Selection Committee of the consortium is responsible for the selection procedure. A first control of eligibility is performed by the student admission office of IHE Delft. Following the eligibility check, a shortlist of around 50 to 80 applicants eligible for a scholarship is built based on the relevance and grade of the obtained bachelor’s degree, relevant work experience, other academic qualifications or activities, the number of applicants per country, and the letter of motivation. The shortlist is distributed over the four full partners of the consortium for individual scoring. The scores provided are based on the following criteria:
- A maximum of 30 points for the overall grade of the previous degree and importance of the university in the country where the degree was obtained.
- A maximum of 30 points for the marks of relevant study subjects during the previous degree, other relevant academic or extra-academic qualifications, and relevant professional or international experience.
- A maximum of 20 points for motivation. You must answer 5 motivation questions. Criteria include specific reference of the study program, clear description of own qualifications and objectives, coherence of the intended career with the study program, and congruence of motivation with the orientation of the study program.
- A maximum of 20 points for the two letters of recommendation. Criteria include scientific and personal potential of the candidates, relevance of previous studies, and professional qualifications and performance with respect to the scope of the FRM program.
Minutes of the selection meeting are prepared and signed by the four country coordinators. The final list is combined with the number of available EC grants for partner and programme countries to obtain two final lists: one of applicants with approved grants, and one with applicants placed on a reserve list. Applicants with approved grants receive an invitation letter. All students are informed regarding the outcome of the selection procedure. Applicants are informed about the possibility of, and procedure for, submitting an appeal.
