Applications are currently being received for the OSCE Academy in Bishkek Scholarship. The scholarship is fully funded and awarded to qualified candidates who are applying to study in one of the masters of art programs (MA in Politics and Security Programme and the MA in Economic Governance and Development Programme) of the academy. The scholarship program aims to assist selected candidates in the pursuit of their educational goals.

The OSCE Academy in Bishkek is a public foundation, established in 2002 by the Kyrgyz Government and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The OSCE Academy promotes the principles and values of the OSCE through post-graduate education, professional training, research and intellectual exchange. Its demanding MA Programmes in the fields of “Economic Governance and Development”, “Human Rights and Sustainability” and “Politics and Security enroll students on a highly competitive basis each year.

The programs are designed for young professionals with a strong work ethic who wish to broaden their education in the areas of political sciences, security studies, international relations, conflict prevention, international development studies, economics and questions of good governance. The program usually starts in September and runs 18 months. Both MA programs are organized as full-time studies and require students to travel and live in Bishkek.

OSCE Academy in Bishkek Scholarship Benefits

Selected candidates for this scholarship program to study in Kyrgyzstan will receive the following benefits:

  1. Tuition-free studies
  2. Stipend of 450 euros per month (18 months)
  3. Round trip travel to/from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (economy class)
  4. Basic medical insurance coverage (except for the citizens of Kyrgyzstan)
  5. Funded internship opportunities in Europe for top GPA students.

OSCE Academy in Bishkek Scholarship Eligibility

To apply for this university scholarship program, applicants must meet the following admission criteria:

  • Successful completion of an academic degree of higher education (four-year BA degree, Specialist Diploma, or final year BA program) in the field of economics, finance, management, business administration, or other equivalent subjects
  • Citizenship of one of the seven Programme Countries of the Academy (Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) or of any other participating State of the OSCE (full list of eligible countries above).
  • Advanced level of English (at least 6.5 on the IELTS or 90 on the TOEFL).
