Candidates are invited to apply for the NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship for International Students. Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST) and Nanjing Municipal Government (NMG) have jointly set up the Nanjing Municipal Government-Nanjing University of Science & Technology Joint Scholarship (NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship) for outstanding international students.

These Nanjing Scholarships are offered to support international students willing to undertake studies at Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree level. The NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship aims to enhance international exchange and attract more outstanding international students to study at Nanjing University of Science and Technology in China.

Founded in in 1953, Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NJUST, 南京理工大学 – Nánjīng Lǐgōng Dàxué) is one of the seven universities affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The university is home to a total of 20 schools, with an enrollment of more than 30,000 students, including around 800 international students. Furthermore, NJUST has more than 2000 full-time faculty members, of whom 20 are Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences or the Chinese Academy of Engineering. NJUST has annual research funding which exceeds 1.5 billion RMB. NJUST ranks the 36th on the latest Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) and the 41st among all the Chinese Universities on QS ranking.

NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship Benefits

Nanjing University of Science and Technology NMG-NJUST Scholarship will provide the following benefits to selected candidates:

Undergraduate scholarship:

  • Quota: 100.
    • Type A (50): full tuition wavier, comprehensive medical insurance
    • Type B (50): 50% tuition wavier, comprehensive medical insurance

Master’s scholarship:

  • Tuition waiver
  • Partial on campus accommodation waiver (1500 RMB/Year)
  • Medical insurance
  • Monthly stipend (in consistance with CSC stipend and supporting policy)
  • Quota: 30.

PhD scholarship:

  • Tuition waiver
  • Partial on campus accommodation waiver (1500 RMB/Year)
  • Medical insurance
  • Monthly stipend (in consistance with CSC stipend and supporting policy)
  • Quota: 30.

NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship Eligibility

To apply for the Nanjing NMG-NJUST Joint Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • be non-Chinese citizens and in good health both physically and mentally
  • have good academic background,
  • observe Chinese laws as well as university rules and regulations, and respect Chinese customs;
  • Undergraduate candidate must have completed the secondary study and under the age of 28
  • Master candidate must have completed the Bachelor’s degree and under the age of 30
  • PhD candidate must have completed the Research master’s degree and under the age of 35.

All candidates need to meet the university’s language proficiency requirement. Each scholarship recipient will be granted with no more than one scholarship.

If any of your documents is in a language other than Chinese or English, you will need to send both the original document and an official translation.
  3. Pay the application fee (500 Yuan or 80USD), non-refundable.

    • For English-taught program applicants: copy of official IELTS certificate (6 or above), TOFEL certificate (over 85), or Duolingo 90 above;
    • For Chinese taught program applicants: copy of HSK5 or above certificate.
  5. Research plan and previous research program information (for for Master & PhD applicants). Motivation letter (for undergraduate applicants). Applicants need to submit study and research plan written in English or Chinese with a minimum of 800 words. Hint: The research plan includes educational background, working experiences, research achievements, future research interest and research plan during their studies leading to master or doctoral degree, and personal career planning after graduation, etc.
  6. Two references / letters of recommendation
  7. Academic papers and academic achievements, if any (for Master & PhD applicants).
  8. NJUST-Professor Provisional Consent Form (if any). Please use this form.
  9. Physical Examination Form
  10. Certificate of guarantee. Proof of the guarantor’s financial ability (mainly including statement of employment and income, certificate of bank deposit or other proof of financial ability).
  11. Non-criminal Record Report. Please use this form.
  12. Remittance Receipt for Application Fee (500 Yuan or 80USD) (*Remittance).
