Applications are currently being received for the ICYF Young Volunteers Camp in Turkey. The program is organized by the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye to equip young people with practical knowledge and guidance to help and support communities during pandemics, natural disasters, and humanitarian crises.

As the world is going through unprecedented change, everyone needs to join their efforts to work collectively and support each other during these difficult times. Volunteerism is the crucial and significant solution at this very moment to bring people together and mobilize them accordingly where help is needed the most.

This year, the camp aims to raise awareness of the current humanitarian crises in the OIC geography and empower young volunteers to respond to these crises and be actively involved in the recovery process in the framework of theoretical, practical, and simulative sessions and workshops.

  • Target group: Open to citizens of OIC Member States (Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Suriname, Tajikistan, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, West Bank, Yemen) or representative of a Muslim community in a non-OIC Member State.

ICYF Young Volunteers Camp Benefits

Successful candidates will be provided with the followings:

  • Accommodation and further costs : Host Organizers will cover accommodation, food, and city tour costs related to local hospitality.
  • Visa : ICYF will provide an invitation letter to facilitate visa issuance for participants. However, every participant is expected to follow up and proceed with their visa process. The participants are also expected to cover the visa fees by themselves.
  • Certificate : Full-attended participants will be awarded a certificate of participation issued by the ICYF and program partners.
  • Local transportation for the participants in Turkey : ICYF will cover domestic transportation of participants (who are living in Turkey) up to 2000 Turkish Liras.
  • The Host Organizers will cover local transportation expenses (from Antalya Airport/ Antalya Bus Station to the Camp area and from the camp area to Antalya Airport/ Antalya Bus Station) and medical insurance for All participants (those in and outside Turkey).

Note : Participants (from outside Turkey) will cover their international transportation by themselves.

ICYF Young Volunteers Camp Eligibility

Applicants for the ICYF International Youth Camp should meet the following criteria:

  • Citizen of an OIC Member State, an Observer State, or representative of a Muslim community in a non-OIC Member State
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Age between 18–35
  • Previous experience in humanitarian and volunteer work
  • Ability to work in teams.
  • Volunteering background and experiences (article, project, photo, video, etc.)
  • Involved in/or have coordinated volunteering-related projects.
  • Leaders with impact on his/her local community
  • Passionate and responsible to attend the full camp training program.

Note : Only selected participants will be informed about the eligibility of their applications.

Camp Objectives

ICYF International Young Volunteers Camps aims to:

  1. raise awareness of young volunteers on humanitarian crises and natural disasters,
  2. prepare young volunteers for emergencies and disasters,
  3. develop the knowledge and skills of young volunteers related to disaster management using interactive techniques and educational methods,
  4. facilitate the engagement of youth in global peace and sustainable human development through volunteerism,
  5. enhance young volunteers’ capacities through interactive training and practical workshops,
  6. develop young volunteers’ skills in psycho-social support together with experts during the recovery period of disasters.
