The Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship Program enables graduate students, young professionals and artists from abroad to study and conduct research in the United States of America (USA). The Fulbright scholarship for international students program operates in more than 155 Fulbright countries worldwide.

The Fulbright Foreign Student Program is administered by bi-national Fulbright Commissions/Foundations or U.S. Embassies. All Foreign Student Program applications are processed by these offices and applicants must apply through them. The application call is for the 2021-2022 academic year.

  • Eligible Programme: Field of study available at partner universities and Academic Institutions in the USA.
  • Number of Awards: Around 4,000 scholarships are awarded each year
  • Duration: Applicant’s programme duration.
  • Fulbright countries: The scholarship is open for citizens of the following countries:
    East Asia and the Pacific (Australia, Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Kiribati, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nauru, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Vietnam);

Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship Benefits

Winners of the Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship Program will be provided with the following benefits:

Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship Program Eligibility

The fulbright scholarship requirements vary from country to country. Please check your country specific website to have accurate information about the Fulbright scholarship requirements, application guidelines and selection procedures.

Fulbright Scholarship Application instructions

The Fulbright scholarship deadline varies per country but is around January to October annually. As The Fulbright scholarship applications are processed by bi-national Fulbright Commissions/Foundations or U.S. Embassies, applicants are advised to contact them for precise information about deadline, eligibility criteria and application procedures.

Application for the scholarship is also done through the same local commissions. Therefore, applicants must apply through the Fulbright Commission/Foundation or U.S. Embassy in their home countries.
