Applications are being received for the Chinese Government Scholarship at Tsinghua University for the 2021-2022 academic year. The scholarship program has been established by the Chinese government to support outstanding international students to pursue master’s and PhD degrees at Tsinghua University.

This CSC Scholarship is a fully funded program that provide coverage for tuition, accommodation, stipend and health insurance. Successful applicant will have a chance to study in variety of programs that are available at the Number One Chinese university. Some programs are offered fully in English, while others are offered fully in Chinese or bilingually in Chinese and English. Master’s degree programs are generally required to be completed in 2-3 years, and Doctoral degree programs in 3-4 years. For students with a Bachelor’s degree who move on directly to pursue a Doctoral degree program, the study period is normally 4-5 years.

The university is a member of the C9 League of Chinese universities and count among it alumni, many Chinese leaders. Chinese Government Scholarship at Tsinghua University Eligibility

Applicants for this Scholarship should meet all the following requirements:

  • The applicant must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health.
  • be a bachelor’s degree holder and no more than 35 when applying for the master’s programs;
  • be a Master’s degree holder and no more than 40 when applying for the doctoral programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree holders willing to pursue doctoral degrees (combined master and PhD) at Tsinghua University could also apply for this scholarship program.
  • be pre-admitted by Tsinghua University and be recommended for CGS by the pre-admitted school/department. Otherwise, the application will not be considered or processed by the University.
  • are not offered with other scholarships for graduate study at Tsinghua University.
  • have not been recommended by other institutions or universities for CGS for future study.
  • Other restrictions, e.g. program, major, nationality, etc. Applicants can consult the scholarship contact at the target school/department for details.
