NEAU Chinese Government Scholarship for Foreign Students

In order to promote friendship and understanding between people in China and abroad, and develop communication and cooperation in aspects of politics, economics, culture, and education, the Chinese Government Scholarship has been created to support excellent students, teachers, and scholars to study in China. The CSC scholarship is fully funded and open for international students willing to study in a master’s or PhD degree programs at the university

There is no application fee and the acceptance letter from a supervisor is not compulsory. Northeast Agricultural University (NEAU) is one of the 279 universities which are responsible for educating NEAU Chinese Government Scholarship students. Currently, there are nearly 200 international students enjoying different programs of Chinese Governments Scholarship at NEAU.

The Northeast Agricultural University is located in the city of Harbin, and is a key university of Heilongjiang province. The university is included in the national “211 Project” and the first-class discipline construction universities in China. The university proposes a wide range of fields of study, research facilities, and is one of the best universities in China.

NEAU Chinese Government Scholarship Benefits

The NEAU Chinese Government Scholarship is fully funded and provides successful applicants with the followings:

• Exempt from registration fee, tuition fee, and accommodation on campus fees;
• Fee for Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit Plan for International Students in China.
• Monthly living allowance is paid to the students by the host institution at the following rates (CNY Yuan per month):
  • Master degree students: CNY 3,000 Yuan
  • Doctoral degree students: CNY 3,500 Yuan

NEAU Chinese Government Scholarship Eligibility

To apply for this government scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens.
• Applicants should be in healthy physical condition.
• Education background and age limit:
  • Applicants for master’s degree studies must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
  • Applicants for PhD degree studies must have master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
• Excellent achievement in the area of study
• Comparative good ability in research
• Not holding any other scholarship.

How to Apply for the NEAU Chinese Government Scholarship

Candidates who wish to apply for the NEAU Chinese Government Scholarship should follow the steps below:

Step 1. Fill out the CSC online application, download the form, print it and sign it.

Choose program Type: B and use 10224 for Agency No while filling the form. For more details on these two elements, please check out the CSC Scholarship Application Tips and Tricks and the Chinese Universities Agency Number and List in Each Province.

Step 2 : Fill in the application Form for International Students to Study at NEAU. Applicants must submit the following application materials by logging into the Northeast Agricultural University Admission System for International Students (Please click here to access the system). Both steps (steps 1 and steps 2) must be completed before March 15, 2024.

Step 3 : Prepare all application documents (including the CSC online application form and the NEAU online application form) in two sets (one original + one copy) and send it to the university. The application hard materials should be sent directly to the International Cultural and Educational College of NEAU (at the address below) before March 20, 2024.

Required Documents

1. The Highest diploma (notarized photocopy). If applicants are university students, they shall provide pre-graduation certificates.
2. Applicants for graduate studies are required to provide undergraduate transcripts. Applicants for graduate studies are required to provide undergraduate transcripts. Applicants for doctoral studies need to provide undergraduate transcripts and graduate transcripts.
3. A study or research plan in Chinese or in English, which shall be no less than 800 words. (Master and Ph.D. only)
4. Applicants for master’s and doctoral degree studies must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by professors or associate professors.
5. A copy of the passport.
6. Six 2-inch ID photos with white background.
7. No criminal certificate.
8. Photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
9. Acceptance letter from a supervisor (not compulsory)
10. Published academic papers and academic achievements (not compulsory).
11. A copy of the HSK certificate (not compulsory).
