Application for the Italian government’s Invest Your Talent in Italy scholarship is now open. The program will award a number of scholarships for the academic year 2026-2027, in favor of international students interested in attending higher education courses in Italy, within the framework of the “Invest Your Talent in Italy” Program.
These government scholarships are awarded for courses of master’s degrees (Laurea Magistrale or Master universitario) at Italian higher education institutes that are partners of the “Invest Your Talent in Italy” program. As part of the program, selected candidates must attend a mandatory internship at partner Italian companies.
The Invest Your Talent in Italy scholarship is incompatible with any other scholarship and/or any other financial aid provided by the Italian government or any Italian public institution. The Program is aimed at increasing cooperation between Italian universities and companies so as to boost their level of internationalization. It also allows young foreign talents to get their specialization in Italy and to start a working experience in the Italian companies that are part of the Program.

Italian Government Invest Your Talent in Italy Scholarship Benefits
This scholarship is fully funded and provides successful applicants with a monthly allowance on a quarterly basis. The scholarship will cover a period of study of 9 (nine) months starting from October 1, 2026. Students enrolled in a two-year course program (Laurea Magistrale) can apply for the renewal of the IYT scholarship awarded in the previous year.
Candidates who are granted a scholarship under the “Invest Your Talent in Italy” program are exempted from the payment of tuition fees except for the regional tax for “Diritto allo Studio”, stampduty, any expenses regarding accident insurance and/or civil liability, as well as the health insurance policy. Grantees must subscribe to a health insurance policy to cover any expenses due to illnesses or accidents. The scholarship does not cover travel expenses and does not include accommodation.
Note : The “Invest Your Talent in Italy” scholarship is incompatible with any other scholarship and/or any other economic facility offered by the Italian government or any other Italian public institution, including the grants provided by Italian Regions “per il diritto allo studio regionale” (right to education provided by Regional Authorities).
Italian Government Invest Your Talent in Italy Scholarship Eligibility
To qualify for this scholarship to study in Europe, applicants must meet the following requirements at the time of the deadline.
- be a Citizen of one of the Countries listed above
- have been born ON or AFTER January 1st, 2000, except for the case of scholarship renewal;
- hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent to enroll in the chosen master’s degree Program (Laurea Magistrale or Master Universitario). Candidates must have completed their Bachelor’s Degree. Final-year students cannot apply unless they have a university letter certifying completion and pending diploma;
- have at least a B2 level of English. An English language certificate within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required. Certificate required from Cambridge, IELTS, TOEFL iBT, Trinity ISE, PTE, Linguaskill, ESOL, or TOEIC (listening, reading, speaking, writing). Duolingo is not accepted.
- candidate who has obtained an English-taught bachelor’s degree can submit a certificate issued by his/her university, stating that English is the medium of instruction in that university/course/faculty. This certificate can be accepted as proof of proficiency in English.
Note : Proof of proficiency in Italian is not mandatory, but will be taken into due consideration in the selection process. Students who are currently studying at an Italian university and those who have obtained an Italian University Degree are not eligible for the IYT Program.

How to Apply for the Invest Your Talent in Italy Scholarship?
Eligible applicants must first check universities and courses included in the program. After choosing the course, you have to contact the university for a pre-application, indicating that you are an IYT applicant. After submitting your pre-application to the university, you can start your online application. The full surname and all given names must be included in the personal information section of the online application form (as stated in the candidate’s passport).

- Academic transcript with all exams and final grade.
- Bachelor’s degree diploma (or university letter certifying completion if diploma not yet issued).
- English language certificate (B2 minimum).
- Italian language certificate (optional but helpful).
- A video of no more than 59 seconds explaining your motivations. English or Italian – Italian gives you an edge. MP4 format, under 10 MB.
- CV/Resume – no longer than one page.
- Valid passport copy.
All documents except the video must be PDF format, each under 1 MB. If your original documents are in a language other than Italian, English, French, or Spanish, you need an official translation into one of those four languages. Combine the original and translation into a single PDF file. Incomplete applications are rejected. No email submissions. Multiple applications using different email addresses are strictly forbidden and will be thrown out.
Note : You can only apply for one course. A second choice only appears automatically if the first course has limited enrollment (“numero chiuso”). The university evaluates whether your bachelor’s background is relevant to your chosen master’s. Not their problem if you pick something unrelated.
Selected candidates will be notified by email in summer 2026. If you’re chosen, you’ll have just three days to accept the scholarship proposal and sign the commitment letter.
