 DEADLINE :
 OPEN TO : Specific Countries
 PLACE : USA
STATUS : Closed

Applications will soon be opened for the 2026 American Diversity Immigrant Visa Program (DV Lottery). Established by Section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), the DV Lottery or Diversity Visa Program has been created to allow individuals from countries with low citizens in the US to immigrate to the United State of America.

The main objective of the DV program is to diversify the immigrant population in the US. In fact, diversity visas are opened each year for people born from a country that has totaled less than 50,000 immigrants to the United States in the categories of family and employment visas, in the previous five years.

Up to 55,000 Diversity Visas (DVs) will be available for the Fiscal Year 2026. The application process is very simple, available online through the Electronic Diversity Visa Program and there is no cost to register for the DV lottery program.

Diversity Visas are distributed among six geographic regions, and no single country may receive more than seven percent of the available DVs in any one year. Winners are selected through a randomized computer drawing, and they may later get a green card to live, study, or work in the USA.

All DV-2026 diversity visa program applicants must be found eligible for, and obtain, their visa or adjust status by the end of the fiscal year 2026 (September 30, 2026). The entry submission period for DV-2026 is from 12:00PM EDT (GMT -4) on October 2, 2024 to 12:00PM EST (GMT -5) on November 5, 2024.
