Applications are opened for the PhD Tuition Payer Scholarship at the United Arab Emirates University. The purpose of the scholarship is to recruit high-achieving graduate students who are employed and wish to pursue their graduate studies at the United Arab Emirates University on a part-time basis.
They can work as Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Graduate Administrative Assistant (GAA) up to 10 hours per week upon availability by College or College of Graduate Studies. In addition, they may have a chance to be paid by working on research projects with their supervisors.
The United Arab Emirates University was founded in 1976 and is the first and oldest of the three government-sponsored institutions of higher learning in the United Arab Emirates.

PhD Tuition Payer Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship program provides successful applicants with the followings:
- Optional work as Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Graduate Administrative Assistant (GAA) up to 10 hours per week upon availability by College or College of Graduate Studies (up to AED 2,000).
- Extra Bonus:
- Up to AED 3,000 from supervisor’s external research project, or.
- Up to AED 2,000 from supervisor’s internal research project.
PhD Tuition Payer Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:
- Have a GPA ≥ 3.0/4.0 in Master degree.
- Pay the tuition fees of the PhD program.
- Prefer to have dissertation in one of the UAE priority sectors (Renewable Energy, Transportation, Education, Health, Water, Technology, Space).
- Meet the PhD admission requirements and apply.
Duties and Expectations
- Maintain GPA ≥ 3.0 at the PhD level.
- Be enrolled in minimum of 6 credits/semester.
- Applicant can be an employee and work outside UAE University.
- Applicants can have external financial sponsorship from any organization.
