The Estonian Government Scholarship Program is currently open for applications. Administered by the Education and Youth Board, this scholarship program aims to support international students, researchers, and lecturers for studies or research activities at Estonian higher education institutions. The scholarship can be applied for by foreign students who wish to study at a higher education institution in Estonia during the 2022/2023 academic year in formal degree studies or as exchange students.
Master’s and doctoral level candidates can study in all available fields at host institutions while Bachelor’s degree applicants can only study in fields that are related to Estonian language and culture. Applications to the Estonian National Scholarships will be accepted from students with citizenship in one of the countries listed in group A and group B. Students from Group A countries will be awarded 2 additional points in the assessment, while students from Group B countries will be awarded 1 point.

Estonian Government Scholarship Benefits
Selected fellows for the Estonian Government Scholarship will have the following benefit:
- 660 EUR per month for PhD students
- 350 EUR per month for Master’s students.
- 350 EUR per month for Bachelor’s students.
This scholarship is not a fully funded program. Hence, other costs are not covered. Please note that this scholarship can be used for both exchange studies and degree studies.
- The exchange student is paid a scholarship during the study period in Estonia according to the dates approved by the host higher education institution. The scholarship can be applied for up to ten months. The scholarship is paid for exchange studies lasting at least 30 days.
- Degree student scholarship is paid for 12 months of the academic year, except for the last nominal academic year, when the scholarship is paid for 10 months. The scholarship is awarded for a maximum of 12 months at a time. In order to apply for a scholarship in degree study, 75% of the volume to be completed according to the curriculum (cumulatively) must be completed by the end of the previous academic year.
- The scholarship is intended to cover the accommodation and transport costs of a foreign student.

Application for to this Europe scholarship is open for candidates, who meet the following criteria:
- be a national of a country listed in group A or B.
- meet the host institution’s eligibility criteria, have applied, and received the confirmation letter of admission.
