The TED Fellows program is looking for individuals who have a proven track record of great work in their field and are on the brink of an incredible breakthrough, but need the extra support to get there. Individuals from all disciplines, and who have collaborative, kind personalities are welcomed.
Every year the program selects a new group of extraordinary, multidisciplinary individuals by open applications. The program looks for innovators on the rise in their respective fields with bold, original work.
TED was born in 1984 out of Richard Saul Wurman’s observation of a powerful convergence among three fields: technology, entertainment and design. The first TED, which he co-founded with Harry Marks, included a demo of the Compact Disc, the e-book and cutting-edge 3D graphics from Lucasfilm, while mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot demonstrated how to map coastlines using his developing theory of fractal geometry.
