Applications for the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship (QECS) is now open. The program is aimed at students who are committed to creating change in their communities. This is a life-changing opportunity to experience a new country and culture, broaden your horizons, and build a global network that will last a lifetime. It’s open for two-years Master’s degree in low or middle-income country of the Commonwealth.

Through cultural exchange and academic collaboration, Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholars help bring about positive change and find solutions to the shared challenges we face – both in their home countries and those that host them. As an active part of the Commonwealth network, scholars will help shape its future.

Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship Benefits

The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship will provide selected candidates with the following benefits:

  1. Fully-funded tuition fees
  2. Living expenses allowance (stipend) for the duration of award
  3. Return economy flights to their host country
  4. One-off arrival allowance
  5. Research support grant – on request only; subject to approval.

Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship Eligibility

Application for the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship Program is open for candidates, who:

  • are citizens of (or hold refugee status in) a Commonwealth country (checklist above).
  • have completed an undergraduate degree or equivalent level.
  • meet their chosen university’s specific eligibility requirements for admissions.

How to Apply for the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship

  3. Complete and submit a QECS application for your chosen university/course by clicking the “Apply” button below. Once you’ve clicked apply, you’ll be directed to a log in page. If you don’t already have a myACU account, click get “get started” in the right-hand corner of the page to start your application.
  4. Submit an application to your chosen university for admission to your chosen course.

Required Documents

  • High school certificate
  • Undergraduate transcript (and graduation certificate)
  • Two references – preferably academic
  • Scan of passport or national ID card
  • Proof of English language ability if English is not your first language.
