The Loughborough Development Trust Africa Scholarship at Loughborough University is now open for applications for the 2025/2026 academic year. This award covers 100% of tuition fees for one year of a selected postgraduate taught Master’s program, replacing any other bursaries you may hold.

  • Citizenship: Must be a national of an African country;
  • Admission: Hold a conditional or unconditional offer for a full‑time Master’s program at Loughborough University;
  • Academic Record: Demonstrate exceptional achievement (typically a first‑class honours or equivalent);
  • Homeward Commitment: Pledge to return to their home country and contribute to its development upon graduation;
  • Financial Awareness: Evidence of understanding and ability to secure funds for travel, living, and maintenance costs beyond tuition;
  • Motivation & Initiative: Strong evidence of proactive planning to cover non‑tuition expenses.

How to Apply for the Loughborough Development Trust Africa Scholarship?

Eligible applicants who would like to apply for this scholarship program must follow these steps to submit their applications:

  1. Secure an offer (conditional or unconditional) for your chosen Master’s program via the Loughborough University postgraduate portal. The application process is fully online via this page;
  2. Apply for the scholarship: Submit your details via the Global Impact Scholarship form (click on the “Apply” button below) to apply for the African Development Trust Scholarship. One application automatically enters you for both the Loughborough Development Trust Africa Scholarship and the Global Impact Scholarship, each providing a full tuition fee waiver.
  3. Upload all required documents and submit the form by the deadline;

  7. Two academic references;
