The Qualification Round 2023 of the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition (IAAC) has opened. Use your skills and astronomy knowledge to win certificates, awards, and prizes. IAAC gives you the unique opportunity to show your knowledge and astronomy skills in one of the biggest astronomy competition for students from all around the world.
Winners and former participants of IAAC automatically become part of the IAAC network: This network consists of outstanding and talented students from all around the world! You will receive important notifications and opportunities. Also, the IAAC team organizes meetups in several regions of the world – all participants are welcome to come.
In general, astronomy is a great motivation for students to get in touch with science. Our society is in need of capable scientists and engineers that develop, shape and maintain the innovations of the future. The prizes and awards are worth a total of 700 USD which includes cash prizes of 600 USD: All participants (regardless of the results) receive participation certificates to honor their efforts. Rounds / Process
- Qualification Round: The qualification round 2023 consists of five astronomy problems and you can submit your solutions online until April 21, 2023. All participants receive certificates.
- Pre-Final Round: Successful participants can register for the pre-final round: You have one week to solve the ten challenging problems of the pre-final round.
- Final Round: Successful finalists can participate in the final round: You will take a supervised exam of 60 minutes. The winners receive certificates and cash prizes worth over 700 USD.

International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition Eligibility
To participate in IAAC 2023, candidates must meet the following requirements.
- National of any country in the world;
- High-school or university student;
- Students from all grades and all.
- There are two age categories:
- Junior: under 18 years on the submission deadline
- Youth: over 18 years on the submission deadline
Note : Depending on your age category you will have to score more points to qualify for the next round. To solve the problems, you should be interested in astronomy, smart, and creative. You should also have a working internet connection to submit your solution online.
