This scholarship program to study in China is funded by the Shanghai Government and is open for studies at Undergraduate, master and PhD levels. The scholarship program offers two schemes. Shanghai Government Scholarship Eligibility
The following are the general requirements for the Shanghai Scholarship to study in China. Applicants should meet:
- Be a non-Chinese citizen.
- Be in Good health both physically and mentally.
- Students applying for undergraduate programs should obtain a high school degree or above and be no more than 25 years old;
- for the graduate programs, students should have a bachelor’s or above degree and be no more than 35 years old;
- for the PhD programs, students should have a Master’s degree or above with academic research ability, and be no more than 40 years old.
- Students applying for the pre-college program should obtain a high school degree under the age of 23 years old, with a letter of pre-admission of the undergraduate program by a Shanghai university.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Chinese or English. For more details, please refer to the Language Requirements for each university;
- Satisfy entry requirements of the chosen university and program;
- Applicant that has received any other scholarships offered by Chinese government or organizations is not eligible to apply.

How to Apply for the Shanghai Government Scholarship
Eligible applicants who would like to apply for the SGS Scholarship need to click on the apply button below.
