Applications are now open for the Sandoz Scholarship 2026 to attend the One Young World Summit in Cape Town, South Africa. Despite significant progress in medicine, billions remain without access to basic care and affordable treatments. Global health indicators reveal that the world is falling short of critical goals such as universal health coverage and stronger pandemic readiness, making the need for action more pressing than ever.
The Sandoz Scholarship is built for young people already working on that problem, not theorizing it. Think practical fixes. Supply chains that actually reach rural clinics. Digital tools that don’t collapse outside major cities. Policy work that chips away at cost barriers. Small interventions, sometimes. But targeted.
Delivered by One Young World in partnership with Sandoz, a global leader in off-patent medicines, the program will back five young leaders who are advancing meaningful progress in global health, pharmaceutical access, or medical innovation.

Sandoz Scholarship for OYW Summit Benefits
Selected scholars will receive a fully funded opportunity with a few extras that make the experience less transactional and more useful:
- Access to participate in the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa (3 – 6 November 2026)
- Hotel accommodation in Cape Town (2 – 7 November 2026)
- Return economy travel from your country of residence to Cape Town
- Catering including breakfast at the hotel, and lunch and dinner on core Summit days
- Transport between the Summit accommodation and the Summit venue
- Participation in Sandoz-hosted sessions and networking activities
- A dedicated Sandoz “buddy” to help navigate the experience and connections

Sandoz Scholarship for OYW Summit Eligibility
To apply for this international scholarship program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Youth aged 18 to 30* at the time of the One Young World Summit 2026
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to creating positive change
- Show leadership potential
- Understand key healthcare challenges in your community or globally
- Have experience developing practical or innovative solutions that improve access to healthcare or reduce inequalities
