University of Bologna International Talents Scholarship Eligibility

Candidates interested in this Europe scholarship program must meet the following requirements:

  • Qualification: You must have obtained, or be in the process of obtaining, a qualification from a non-Italian education system that qualifies you for access to a second cycle (graduate) programme.
  • Merit: You are required to have taken the GRE test by the application deadline. The GRE, an aptitude and skills assessment test, must be taken in English, and you must ensure your scores are sent to the University of Bologna using the recipient code 7850 before the deadline.
  • Financial Status: You must demonstrate financial need by providing an ISEE certificate with an indicator value between €16,000 and €35,000, or equivalent documentation if your family income is generated from sources outside Italy.   • Age: Applicants must not be older than 30 years on the closing date of the call for applications.

Note: The study grants are awarded based on a combination of GRE scores and a comprehensive review of your academic dossier submitted to the Admissions Office. Applicants with GRE scores below the minimum thresholds (Verbal + Quantitative ≥ 290 and Analytical Writing ≥ 3.0) will not be considered.

How to Apply for the International Talents Scholarship

Eligible candidates must follow steps below to submit their application for this university scholarship program.

  • Step 1: Register on Studenti Online
    • If you do not already have a University of Bologna username and password (or access via SPID/CIE), register at studenti.unibo.it. International students without an Italian tax ID should use the “International students registration” section.
    • Ensure that your personal details match those on your passport or ID card. Replace the PUK code with a personal password after your first login.
  • Step 2: Complete the Online Application
    • Log into Studenti Online and click on the “Calls” section.
    • Select the call named “Call for applications International Talents @Unibo, a.y. 2025-26”.
    • Verify your contact details, fill in all required information, and upload the necessary documents in PDF format. Your documents should include:
      • A copy of your valid passport (or ID for EU citizens)
      • Your unofficial GRE score report
      • Your ISEE 2025 certificate or equivalent financial documentation
      • Your CV, academic transcripts, and degree certificate (or proof of pending qualification)
      • A cover letter tailored to the program
      • Any additional documents as required by the call
  • Step 3: Submit Your Official GRE Scores
    • Register and send your official GRE score report via ETS, ensuring that it reaches the University of Bologna no later than the application deadline. Use the recipient code “7850” when sending your scores.
  • Step 4: Finalize and Submit Your Application
    • Ensure that all fields are complete and accurate. Submit your application before the deadline at 12:00 CEST.
    • Your application will only be considered valid if it adheres strictly to the guidelines. Applications submitted by other means (paper, fax, or direct email) will not be accepted.

The application for the International Talents Scholarship is solely for the scholarship request and does not serve as an admission application for degree programmes. To be admitted to a degree programme at the University of Bologna, you must complete the separate admission procedures as specified on the respective second cycle degree programme websites.
