The Chinese Government Scholarship (Chinese University Program) is established by the Ministry of Education of China, aiming to develop outstanding international talent and improve the perception of China’s higher education. This CSC scholarship is fully funded and open for full-time studies at master’s and PhD degree levels at the Southeast University.

Chinese Government Scholarship at Southeast University Eligibility

In order to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship at Southeast University, applicants must meet the following criteria.

1. be a non-Chinese citizen and in good health.
2. Education background and age limit:
   • Doctoral degree studies applicants should not be older than 40 and have a Master’s degree.
   • Master’s degree studies applicants should not be older than 35 and have a bachelor’s degree.
3. Have good grades and outstanding scientific research ability
4. Not in possession of other scholarships
5. Meet your program’s language requirements

How to Apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship at Southeast University

Interested applicants who would like to apply for this scholarships to study in Asia, must follow the steps below:

Step 1: Southeast University online registration

Apply on the SEU online application system, select the Chinese Government Scholarship program. After you complete the online application, you can log in the system to check your application status.

For students who have passed all the reviews, they will receive the pre-admission letters that recommend them for the CSC scholarship (the application status on the system will be “Waiting for preadmission”).

Step 2: CSC online registration

Submit the pre-admission letter on the CSC online application system according to the time specified in the letter. Otherwise, you’ll be considered to give up the opportunity to be recommended. The application code of Southeast
University / the agency number is 10286, the program type is B.

Step 3: Admission documents

The admission documents will be posted to you after receiving the final decision from CSC.

Required Documents

1. Passport (The valid period must be more than one year, if you’re currently in china, please provide copies of the first page and the VISA/resident permit page);
2. Certificate of Highest Degree;
3. If you are to obtain the higher level of degree before September 30, 2026, you may provide the official document to prove that;
4. Official Transcript of Academic Records;
5. HSK 4 (200 or above) at least is needed for Chinese-taught Programs;
6. If English is not the native language or official language, you are required to provide TOEFL (80 or above), IELTS (6.5 or above) for English-taught program;
7. 2 Recommendation Letters;
8. Research Proposal no less than 800 words;
9. Physical Examination Record of Foreigners;
10. Certificate of Non-criminal Record;
11. Some programs may need other materials. (E.g. Architecture programs ask for the applicant’s portfolio).
