UC International First Year Scholarship 2020-2021

UC International First Year Scholarship recognizes and supports top-achieving international students commencing an undergraduate degree programme at the University of Canterbury. The scholarship is currently awarded with values of $10,000, $15,000 or $20,000. Up to twenty-five scholarships may be awarded.

UC International First Year Scholarship Benefits

The International First Year Scholarship provides financial assistance to a value of $20,000, $15,000, or $10,000, paid to a recipient’s tuition fees account at the time of enrollment in a programme.

UC International First Year Scholarship Eligibility

To apply for the scholarship, applicants must:

• be full-fee-paying international students.
• may not be a citizen of New Zealand or Australia, Permanent Residents of Australia or holders of New Zealand residence class visas.
• be completing, or have completed on or after 1 January of the year before the year of application, a university entrance-level qualification that permits entry into a University of Canterbury undergraduate degree programme.
• have applied for admission to the University by the closing date for the round in which they are applying (15 August, 31 October or 1 March),
• The scholarship is not tenable by students who have already undertaken partial study in an undergraduate degree programme at a New Zealand tertiary institution.
